YouTube Tweaks Video Sharing Features

YouTube announced on their blog yesterday that they’d be making some changes to how it displays videos. Specifically, whenever you upload a video that has a resolution of 480p or higher, the preview image will appear in high definition. This means that if someone wishes to embed that video – the preview is nice and crisp.

They’ve also given you the ability to remove the YouTube logo from videos you upload. Here’s how:

At the end of the video URL in your embed code, just add the code ?modestbranding=1 and the player will show without the YouTube logo in the control bar. Note that a small “YouTube” text label will still show up in the upper-right corner of a paused video when you hover over the player.
